Hard-chrome teeth, hardened rivets, and perfectly smooth joints work together to significantly reduce wear. The electrolytically applied hard-chrome coating keeps your chain sharper for longer.

The final production step for every STIHL saw chain involves stretching the chain under a high and constant tensile load. This minimises the need for retensioning during first use while simultaneously extending the chain's service life.

Clear wear marks on the cutting teeth make sharpening easier. They show the optimal sharpening point and prevent a tooth from being ground too far.

The STIHL Oilomatic system delivers oil precisely to every single chain link. This reduces wear and increases service life compared to conventional saw chains.

STIHL Light Bars are significantly lighter without compromising on strength or stability.  Their three-part lightweight construction features hollowed-out sections that reduce weight while maintaining durability, helping to minimise fatigue and improve comfort during extended use. Models marked with “P” are specially optimised for even lower weight.

Manufactured with specially hardened chain track. STIHL guide bars are extremely reliable and last up to 50% longer than conventional guide bars. The chain track is hardened via electromagnetic induction which makes it particularly hard-wearing

The sprocket nose features sealed bearings that are lubricated for life, helping to reduce wear while protecting against dirt and corrosion. The symmetrical design allows the bar to be rotated for even wear and maximum service life.

STIHL Ematic guide bars ensure that virtually every drop of chain lubricant is delivered to the Oilomatic saw chain through an optimised oil delivery system.

What is the STIHL Ematic System?

Graphic of the STIHL Oilomatic system

The STIHL Ematic system consists of:

  • a STIHL Ematic guide bar

  • an Oilomatic saw chain

  • a quantity-controlled or reduced-delivery oil pump

The chain oil is delivered precisely, and with minimal loss, exactly where it’s needed.

The benefit for you: Using less chain oil depending on the cutting attachment and type of wood. Compared to cutting attachments without an Ematic system, you can reduce chain oil consumption by up to 50%.

Which bar is suitable for which application?

New bar design

STIHL is currently updating the names and design of guide bars. For logistical reasons, this may mean you may receive a product with a different name and design than the guide bar ordered. This is a purely superficial change, all technical details remain the same.

We apologise for any inconvenience, and if you have any concerns about an order please contact our customer support team.
