As a producer of industrial and portable batteries STIHL GB offer a service for their collection if they are no longer required.
Industrial batteries are those which exceed 4 kg in weight and would include AR batteries and lead acid lawn tractor batteries, whilst Portable batteries, weighing less than 4 kg would include all other batteries.
Our commitment to sustainability and the environment
As a manufacturer of products, we have a commitment to quality and sustainability both in terms of the longevity of our products but also to the environment.
We operate in accordance with the WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) directive which ensures that, where possible components are reused or recycled to minimise the amount of waste sent to landfill or incinerated.
What is the WEEE Regulation
The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2013 is underpinning UK Legislation. This ensures that there is a safe and responsible method for the collection, recovery and recycling of electric and electronic products.
How does it work?
Waste electrical and electronic equipment may not be disposed of with household waste. Consumers are legally required to ensure that this equipment is properly disposed of separately from household waste.
To make this clear, all newly marketed electrical and electronic products carry the symbol of a crossed-out wheelie bin since 2005 to visibly indicate resource efficiency and environmental protection.
You have the option of taking electrical and electronic waste to a suitable collection point operated by dealers or municipalities. In addition, you can also return your waste devices free of charge to our shipping warehouse:
