We also used to make products with an integrated battery which was called the AI line, but this has now expired.

If you are experiencing an issue with a STIHL battery, we recommend you immediately stop using it and take it to a STIHL approved dealer. They will be able to perform diagnostics, and decide on further action on a case-by-case basis.
Yes, you can easily change the battery in the AS system power tools. To insert the battery, push it into the battery compartment until it cannot go in any further and it clicks into place.
To remove the battery again, press both retaining hooks. The battery is unlocked and can now be removed.
On the whole we would not recommend the AS System for professionals use. However, there are some tools in the range which have been designed specifically with professionals in mind such as the GTA 40.
STIHL Lithium-ion batteries have a particularly long service life (up to 1,200 charging cycles). Another factor is that you do not need a different battery for every power tool.
This means that the versatile STIHL AS 2 battery can be used with almost all power tools within the STIHL AS system.
