CONSTANT POWER, REGARDLESS OF BATTERY CHARGE STATUS. With other brands of battery tools, the performance usually decreases during work as the battery discharges. This is not the case with STIHL cordless power tools with CONSTANT POWER. Thanks to the intelligent electronics, your STIHL power tool works with consistently high power.
RELIABLE STARTING IN COLD TEMPERATURES. Our cold start feature protects the cells by warming them up in a controlled way before delivering full power and allows them to work down to -20 degrees. This AP battery has an improved cold start feature and can deliver full power within as little as 2 minutes at -20° Celsius.
FOR SIMPLE AND SECURE RE-TENSIONING. Side-mounted chain tensioning allows for protected, easy and quick chain tensioning and replacement. The tensioning screw is inserted laterally through the sprocket cover.
FOR CONTROL AND MONITORING OF THE OIL SUPPLY. The LED display on the oil sensor shows you your oil levels. If the LED is red, there is not enough chain oil reaching the chain. When the oil supply is correct, the LED does not display.
OIL CONSUMPTION BASED ON NEED. The controlled-delivery oil pump reduces your chainsaw’s oil consumption by up to 50%. To use it, simply select the E position. For very long cutting attachments or very dry wood, an additional oil volume can be set by the user.
QUICK AND EASY TO USE. Thanks to the bayonet closure, you can open and close the tool-free fuel cap in just a few simple steps.
FOR COMFORTABLE HANDLING. The control lever with potentiometer function allows you to control the speed of your battery-powered chainsaw on an infinitely variable basis, and in this way easily control and adjust its performance as needed. On consumer chainsaws, the potentiometer function is integrated into the throttle lever.
PROTECTION AGAINST LOSS The nuts are attached to the sprocket cover in a captive manner. This makes it impossible for the nuts to fall off and get lost when the cover is removed.
FACILITATES CORRECT CUT DIRECTION. The plunge guide makes it easier to check the cutting direction during plunge cutting. It is mounted on the fan housing and runs parallel to the symmetry line of the guide bar.
FOR A FIRM GRIP ON THE TREE. The rounded arrangement of the bumper spike teeth matches the radial contours of trees. This means that your chainsaw will bite even better into the wood when cutting to length and felling.
FOR ACCURATE AIMING. The chainsaw includes a raised felling guide so that you have a better sense of the direction trees will fall when felling. This enables you to precisely aim the direction of fall.
IMPORTANT STATUS INFORMATION AT A GLANCE. The large LED display provides feedback on the status of important chainsaw components.
ADAPTED TO YOUR WORK. This chainsaw offers you 3 different operating modes. In “Eco” mode, the chainsaw operates with reduced power for maximum battery runtime. “Felling” mode uses the highest possible torque at reduced chain speed, to help you saw as evenly and powerfully as possible. “Delimbing” mode gives you a very high chain speed for precise cuts. Use the activation button to start your chainsaw in your preferred mode.
EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE MONITORING. The derating function offers you two advantages in your work: first, this function protects your chainsaw against possible overheating by reducing the current. Additionally, it notifies you by means of a reduction in power if you only have very little battery power remaining. In both cases, the function allows you to finish cuts that have already started without the engine switching off.
OPTIMAL ENGINE COOLING. The air filter with fine metal mesh cleans the air and in this way ensures optimum engine cooling. As it is itself easy to clean, it also offers a long service life.
LOW-MAINTENANCE AND EFFICIENT. Thanks to its compact design, low weight and high efficiency, the EC engine enables you to work in an energy efficient manner. This engine also has a long service life.
SPLASHWATER PROTECTION. The IPX protection classes define the moisture protection of electrical or electronic devices. The moisture protection test is defined in different stages. IPX4 certifies protection against splashwater from all sides. Battery-powered tools with this certification are therefore designed for daily use, even in rainy conditions.

The MSA 600 C-O is STIHL’s most powerful battery-powered chainsaw, designed for use in tree maintenance, municipalities and horticulture and landscaping. Powered by two ALLPRO batteries, it is a high-performance chainsaw that is suited to felling large trees and cutting them to size in noise-sensitive areas, such as around hospitals, schools, parks or suburban areas. It can used with bar lengths of up to 90 cm, making it possible for users to switch to battery technology even for demanding felling work and large cuts.
Boasting more power than the MS 661 professional petrol chainsaw, the MSA 600 C-O is the most powerful STIHL chainsaw in the 90cc class (mechanical output of 5.9 kW: MSA 600 vs 5.4 kW: MS 661) thanks to the power of the STIHL ALLPRO batery system. The MSA 600 C-O is straight forward to handle and has a 5-second activation time for easy starting. If you activate the motor but are unable to start working immediately, it switches off again automatically after a short time, saving energy for more productive working.
The LED display allows for intuitive operation, giving the user notifications on chain brake position and operating setting, plus an oil sensor continuously measures the amount of chain oil, helping you to work with as little interruption as possible. The saw has three available operating modes (performance, endurance and precision) that can be selected on the handle, which enable optimum battery efficiency and allow the user to adapt the chainsaw to different applications.
Other features of the chainsaw include a removable metal mesh air filter with metal grille, which provides optimum cooling and easier cleaning. This keeps the heat of the electronics and the engine parts clean and fully operational for less interruptions during the working day. Like most ALLPRO/AP System tools, the MSA 600 C-O is IPX4 rated meaning it can be used in all types of weather conditions.
Recommended for use with the ALLPRO AP 300 P/PC batteries only. On a fully charged battery you can cut approx. 40 cuts of 40 cm x 40 cm spruce timber.
