Overview: Battery charging cabinet
- STIHL has partnered with Asecos to offer the Ion line range of battery charging cabinets for safe and secure charging of your batteries.

- Available in two different sizes; medium and large
- Able to charge up to 32 STIHL AP System Lithium-ion batteries
There are two sizes of cabinet available; medium and large. If you are using our AL 301-4 multi charger, you can charge up to 32 STIHL AP System Lithium-ion batteries with the large cabinet, or up to 16 batteries in the medium cabinet.
With the STIHL version of the charge cabinets, the back plate of the cabinet and placement of the sockets have been specifically designed for use with STIHL AL 301-4 chargers to optimise the space. But they can also be used with other STIHL chargers if fast charging is a priority, or a mix of both types of chargers. If faster charging is required, you can use our STIHL AL 501 chargers, with up to 15 in the large cabinet, or 8 in the medium cabinet. You can choose whichever configuration suits you and your business best using either the shelves or the backplate. You can also use other manufacturers’ chargers too.
Yes, the cabinets have lockable doors, a 3-point latching system and a self-closing dampener.
The cabinets can be connected to power using either a standard 3 pin UK plug, or 3 phase power, which are both included. The power supply that you use will depend on the combination of chargers within the cabinet.
Both cabinets offer 90 minutes of fire resistance from the outside inwards to EN 14470-1 standard and from the inside out, to EN 1363-1 standard.
The charging cabinets also have insulated shelves to prevent the spread between levels and the large cabinet meets the latest VDMA 24994 standard, a recent technical guideline issued by the German Mechanical Engineering Industry Association that defines safety and performance requirements for fire-resistant storage cabinets.
The large Asecos charging cabinet is also fitted with smoke detectors and temperature sensors to provide a 3-stage alarm syste, and it has a ventilation attachment to prevent heat buildup.
The medium cabinet is fitted with smoke detectors. There is also the option to have notifications sent to you if an alarm is activated.
