CONSTANT POWER, REGARDLESS OF BATTERY CHARGE STATUS. With other brands of battery tools, the performance usually decreases during work as the battery discharges. This is not the case with STIHL cordless power tools with CONSTANT POWER. Thanks to the intelligent electronics, your STIHL power tool works with consistently high power.
RELIABLE STARTING IN COLD TEMPERATURES. Our cold start feature protects the cells by warming them up in a controlled way before delivering full power and allows them to work down to -20 degrees. This AP battery has an improved cold start feature and can deliver full power within as little as 2 minutes at -20° Celsius.
FOR SIMPLE AND SECURE RE-TENSIONING. Side-mounted chain tensioning allows for protected, easy and quick chain tensioning and replacement. The tensioning screw is inserted laterally through the sprocket cover.
FOR CONTROL AND MONITORING OF THE OIL SUPPLY. The LED display on the oil sensor shows you your oil levels. If the LED is red, there is not enough chain oil reaching the chain. When the oil supply is correct, the LED does not display.
OIL CONSUMPTION BASED ON NEED. The controlled-delivery oil pump reduces your chainsaw’s oil consumption by up to 50%. To use it, simply select the E position. For very long cutting attachments or very dry wood, an additional oil volume can be set by the user.
QUICK AND EASY TO USE. Thanks to the bayonet closure, you can open and close the tool-free fuel cap in just a few simple steps.
MAKES FILL-LEVEL MONITORING EASY. With the transparent oil tank, you can easily and quickly check the fill level of the chain oil. This means that you always know when you need to add chain oil for efficient work over long periods.
FOR COMFORTABLE HANDLING. The control lever with potentiometer function allows you to control the speed of your battery-powered chainsaw on an infinitely variable basis, and in this way easily control and adjust its performance as needed. On consumer chainsaws, the potentiometer function is integrated into the throttle lever.
FOR PRECISE CUTS. The sturdy metal bumper spikes provide chainsaws with a hold on wood, so that you can guide your cuts safely and precisely.
FOR ACCURATE AIMING. The chainsaw includes a raised felling guide so that you have a better sense of the direction trees will fall when felling. This enables you to precisely aim the direction of fall.

The STIHL MSA 260 C-O is a professional battery chainsaw designed for arborists, landscapers and forestry professionals who need high cutting performance combined with low weight and excellent manoeuvrability. Positioned between the MSA 220 and MSA 300 in the STIHL professional battery range, it offers an ideal balance of power, agility and productivity for demanding daily use.
Delivering 2.0 kW of mechanical power and 2.8 Nm of torque, the MSA 260 C-O provides the performance needed for tasks such as felling small trees, processing timber and maintenance work in forestry, arboriculture and landscape management. With a maximum chain speed of 24 m/s, it delivers fast, efficient cutting performance while maintaining impressive handling characteristics.
Weighing just 3.7 kg (without battery, guide bar, chain and oil), the MSA 260 C-O has been engineered for comfort over extended periods of work. When paired with the recommended ALLPRO AP 200 P battery, guide bar, chain and a full tank of oil, the total application weight remains under 6 kg, helping to reduce operator fatigue whilst maintaining professional-grade cutting performance.
The MSA 260 C-O has been specifically designed to work with the ALLPRO AP 200 P* battery, delivering an exceptional balance of runtime, performance and weight. The lightweight 1.3 kg battery ensures excellent ergonomics whilst providing the power required for demanding applications. With the ALLPRO AP 200 P battery, the saw can fell and delimb up to two pine trees measuring 30 cm in diameter and 15 m in height, or achieve up to 25 minutes of working time, depending on the application.
Productivity is enhanced further through the combination of ALLPRO AP 200 P batteries, the AL 1802 charger and PS 2000 power bank. Thanks to the battery's rapid charging capability, reaching 80% charge in as little as 9 minutes, operators can maintain continuous workflows throughout the working day with minimal interruption.
Designed around efficiency and ease of use, the MSA 260 C-O features an adjustable oil pump which allows chain lubrication to be matched to the application. For lighter-duty work, oil consumption can be reduced, helping to extend operating time between refills and minimise downtime.
A completely new external metal-mesh air filter system helps maintain optimum cooling of the motor and electronics whilst remaining quick and easy to clean. The robust filter design is built for durability and reduced maintenance requirements in demanding working environments. The MSA 260 C-O also features a new electronic activation system with an extended five-second standby function, making it particularly effective for dynamic working situations where the operator frequently moves between cuts. A clear status display provides essential operating information at a glance, including machine activation, chain brake status and chain oil level.
Additional professional features include metal bumper spikes, side-mounted chain tensioning, an adjustable oil pump and an interchangeable sprocket system which allows the saw to be configured for either 3/8" Picco or .325" chain setups, offering greater flexibility across a range of applications.
Comfort remains a key focus, with low vibration levels of 2.9 m/s² on the left handle and 2.7 m/s² on the right handle, alongside a sound pressure level of just 89 dB(A), helping to reduce operator fatigue during long working days.
