INTUITIVE OPERATION Separate buttons for machine start and speed setting prevent accidental switching during operation. This makes control more intuitive and safer.
FOR COMFORTABLE TRANSPORT AND STORAGE. Thanks to the detachable shaft, you can quickly dismantle your power tool for easier transport, and also store it in a space-saving manner. You do not need any tools to disassemble the shaft.
QUICK ASSEMBLY OF KOMBITOOLS. Thanks to the quick-release coupling, the various KombiTools for your power tool can be connected and disconnected quickly and without tools.
DIRECT POWER SUPPLY TO THE POWER TOOL. With this power tool, you can insert the required battery from the STIHL AP-System directly into the engine housing. This increases your mobility and flexibility when working.
OPTIMAL ENGINE COOLING. The air filter with fine metal mesh cleans the air and in this way ensures optimum engine cooling. As it is itself easy to clean, it also offers a long service life.
PERFORMANCE SUITABLE FOR THE TASK. You can change the power of your device thanks to 2 different power levels. At level 1, you reduce the power (Eco mode) and extend the battery life. Level 2 allows you to call up full power. This means that you can either work particularly energy-efficiently or use all the power of the device when you need it.
SPLASHWATER PROTECTION. The IPX protection classes define the moisture protection of electrical or electronic devices. The moisture protection test is defined in different stages. IPX4 certifies protection against splashwater from all sides. Battery-powered tools with this certification are therefore designed for daily use, even in rainy conditions.
OPTIMISED POWER TOOL USE. Thanks to STIHL connected, you always have an overview of your power tool fleet and can automatically receive power tool data such as age, operating hours, and maintenance status. This allows you to determine the ideal fleet size and composition based on concrete information, as it makes clear how the power tool fleet is being used. Following initial commissioning, the Smart Connector collects the required data and transfers it to a mobile power tool or STIHL connected Box. All recorded power tool data is available for viewing and evaluation in the STIHL connected App and the STIHL connected Portal.

The STIHL KMA 140 R is a powerful battery-powered KombiMotor designed for professionals taking on the toughest gardening, landscaping and maintenance tasks throughout the working day. An upgrade of the KMA 135 R, this tool is part of the AP System. And as it is battery-powered, it has low noise emission – making it ideal for work in noise-sensitive areas such as schools, hospitals and quiet neighbourhoods.
Powered by a 36-volt lithium-ion battery, the KMA 140 R is quiet, efficient and powerful enough to tackle a variety of tasks - whether it’s pruning, trimming, mowing, clearing or cutting! Compatible with all KombiTools (except FSB-KM), attaching and changing tools is made simple too – all you need to do is insert your desired tool into the shaft and tighten to secure it in place.
The KMA 140 R is fitted with a new style loop handle that has a quick-mounting system, meaning you can adjust the handle to your height for an ergonomic working position. This handle also makes tackling tasks on slopes, around trees or on uneven terrains even easier.
The tool has a high-performance brushless EC motor and an updated control handle with seperate switches for starting, selecting the speed level and a HMI module with LED display. The KMA 140 R can be set at 3 different speed levels depending on the type of work you are doing. Plus, there is an energy saving mode on the handle too for when your battery is low on energy. A new compact motor unit with metal mesh filter provides improved cooling and long service life. It is also easy to clean and maintain. Plus, the KMA 140 R is IPX4 rated – meaning it can be used in all weather conditions.
You can use any of the AP batteries with the KMA 140 R, however, working times will vary depending on which attachment you use with it. The AP 500 S battery will give you the longest working times but is also the heaviest of the AP batteries, so you may decide to choose a smaller capacity battery if you are going to be using the tool for a longer period of time, such as when hedge trimming.
The KMA 140 R is supplied with a basic harness as standard. KombiTools sold separately.
