In addition, the optimised geometry of the wraparound handle supports flexible working with plenty of freedom to manoeuvre and precise guidance of your power tool.
EASY ADJUSTMENT OF POWER TOOL PERFORMANCE. Quickly and conveniently adjust the speed of your power tool to the respective work situation. Doing so reduces energy consumption at low speeds, and in this way extends the battery runtime. The practical control handle with speed control allows you to make the relevant adjustment without having to change your grip or pause work.
DIRECT POWER SUPPLY TO THE POWER TOOL. With this power tool, you can insert the required battery from the STIHL AP-System directly into the engine housing. This increases your mobility and flexibility when working.
OPTIMAL ENGINE COOLING. The air filter with fine metal mesh cleans the air and in this way ensures optimum engine cooling. As it is itself easy to clean, it also offers a long service life.

SPLASHWATER PROTECTION. The IPX protection classes define the moisture protection of electrical or electronic devices. The moisture protection test is defined in different stages. IPX4 certifies protection against splashwater from all sides. Battery-powered tools with this certification are therefore designed for daily use, even in rainy conditions.
INTEGRATION INTO STIHL CONNECTED. The power tool is compatible with the Smart Connector, meaning it can be integrated into the STIHL connected system. Once you have attached a Smart Connector to the power tool, after one-time commissioning it will record the power tool’s operating hours and transmit them to the STIHL connected App via Bluetooth. In addition to displaying the operational time, the app also provides an overview of all necessary maintenance, ensuring that you do not overlook important upkeep and that your power tool is always in a ready-to-use condition.

The FSA 140 R is a powerful professional battery-powered brushcutter from STIHL. An upgrade of the FSA 135 R, this tool is part of the AP System and designed for professional users working landscaping and grounds maintenance. With an improved power-to-weight ratio and a brushless motor with 1.0 kW mechanical power, it is capable of taking on the toughest mowing, clearing and scrub cutting jobs with ease. As the tool is battery-powered, it’s especially suited for work in noise sensitive areas such as at hospitals, schools and housing estates.
The FSA 140 R is fitted with a new style loop handle that has a quick-mounting system, meaning you can adjust the handle to your height for an ergonomic working position. This handle also makes tackling tasks on slopes, around trees or on uneven terrains even easier. The tool is fitted with a high-performance EC motor and an updated control handle with seperate switches for starting, selecting the speed level and a HMI module with LED display. The FSA 140 R can be set at 3 different speed levels depending on the type of work you are doing. Plus, there is an energy saving mode on the handle too for when your battery is low on energy.
A new compact motor unit with metal mesh filter provides improved cooling and long service life. It is also easy to clean and maintain. Plus, the FSA 140 R is IPX4 rated – meaning it can be used in all weather conditions. The FSA 140 R is supplied with a double shoulder harness and the AutoCut C 26-2 blade as standard but can also be fitted with other STIHL cutting tools, such as the GrassCut, TrimCut, DuroCut, PolyCut, BrushCut and WoodCut cutting tools.

Don’t forget to check your work area for wildlife before starting to use your tool. In particular, you should check for nesting birds before trimming hedges, as well as checking for other small animals such as hedgehogs before trimming long grass.
STIHL professional tip - to get the most from your mowing line, we recommend popping it in a bucket of water for 12-24 hours before using it to make it more flexible and less likely to break.
