PRECISE WORK. Thanks to adjustable blade spacing, you can process vine cuttings and similar woody matter precisely and comfortably. Operation and switch-off are easy to use via the control unit. Select the desired blade spacing on the task. If you want to change to full blade spacing for thicker branches, simply double-click on the gear lever. Then, double-click and hold down to close the blades.
CONTROLLED AND PRECISE. For maximum cutting control and very precise cuts, the movement of the blade follows the movement of the finger on the control lever during cutting. The blade only closes as far as the control lever is pressed and opens again immediately when the lever is released.

The ASA 140 battery-powered secateurs are the latest addition to STIHL’s AP System range of tools. Designed for professional users in viticulture, landscaping, and tree care, this tool delivers fast, precise pruning making it ideal for work and maintenance in vineyards and on large properties.
Powered by an interchangeable 36-volt lithium-ion battery, the ASA 140 effortlessly cuts through material up to 45 mm in one clean cut, and thanks to its low weight, soft rubber grip and well-balanced ergonomics, it’s extremely comfortable to use over long working periods. The ASA 140 has a progressive cut which means the blade follows your finger movement on the trigger. This allows for controlled, precise cuts to be made. The fast-closing speed and high cutting performance of the secateur blades means you can work quickly and efficiently with the tool. The ASA 140 is IPX4 rated, meaning it can be used in all weather conditions.
You can set the cordless powered secateurs to two different opening widths - 25 mm and 45 mm - by quickly double clicking the trigger. This allows you to adjust the secateurs to the type of work you are doing whether that be larger or smaller branches. The screen will show you the charge level and which blade width mode the ASA 140 is set to. It also shows you the total number of cuts the tool has done from the last time it was switched on. It will also show you a spanner icon if maintenance is required.
Certified in accordance with IPX4 protection class means the ASA 140 can be used in adverse weather conditions and is splashproof.
When used with the recommended AP 300 S battery, you can make around 9000 cuts on a full charge, which is around a day’s work.
